The latest information shows that 37 countries have signed an agreement on the proposal to impose sports sanctions on Russia.

“We are also targeting sanctions against Belarus,” British Culture Minister Nadine Dorries said on Wednesday (03/09/2022).

In the 37-nation agreement, there is a call for Russia and Belarus not to get permission to host international sporting events.

The agreement also asks Russia and Belarus not to obtain permission to participate in auctions for the hosting of international sports venues.

“We also call on Russia and Belarus not to receive international sports awards,” the statement said.

Additionally, the collective agreement includes a call for individual athletes selected by Russia and Belarus, including the administrative team and the representative team, to be banned from competing in countries other than Russia and Belarus.

The proposed ban also includes the presence of representatives, city names and sports brands from Russia and Belarus.

Recently, the International Football Association (FIFA) implemented the above policy for clubs and national teams of Russia and Belarus.
