Vitoria: The Indonesian National Para-Badminton Team performed well in the 2023 Spanish Para-Badminton International Tournament. 320 attendees. As a result, the Indonesian national para-badminton team was able to win seven gold and two bronze medals.

The success of Indonesian para-badminton is very encouraging because in the seven categories that played the final round on Sunday (26/2), all were able to finish with victory.

The new mixed doubles in the SL3-SU5 category, Hikmat Ramdani/Leani Ratri Oktila won the gold medal after beating the Indian pair, Chirag Baretha/Mandeep Kaur Mandeep Kaur, 21-11 21-12.

The second gold medal was presented by the mixed doubles SH 6, Subhan/Rina Marlina who beat the Thai pair, Natthapong Meechai/Chai Saeyang 21-8 21-12.

In the men’s SU5 singles, Dheva Anrimusthi beat Malaysian player Cheah Liek Hou 21-11 17-21 and 21-17 and Syakuroh Qonitah Ikhtiar edged Oksana Kozyna of Ukraine 21-9 21-14 to win the women’s singles gold SL3.

SH6 Women’s Singles, Rina Marlina beat Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan (India) 21-8 21-14 and won her second gold medal in this tournament, followed by a contribution from Leani Ratri Oktila in the SL4 Women’s Singles after fighting three matches against Japanese players, Haruka Fujino 21-11 14-21 21-13.

Ratri added to her collection of three gold medals at the BWF Para Badminton International Level 2 event after managing to win in the women’s doubles SL3-SU5 when paired with Khalimatus Sadiyah/Ratri/Khalim an easy win over the Indian pair, Manasi Girishchandra JOshi / Shanthiya Viswanathan 21-9 21- 9.

“I am very happy with the results I achieved in this tournament because I was able to win three gold medals in the three events I participated in, namely women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. This tournament was very difficult because it brought together players from Japan and France,” Ratri said.

Competing in cold weather is a challenge in itself for Subhan. “I appeared in three issues and I’m very happy with the results here. All the opponents are tough and the challenges are getting tougher as we have to compete in cold temperatures,” explained Subhan.

With a roster of 10 players and the possibility of winning 7 gold medals, this result is certainly a good first step for Indonesian para-badminton in the pursuit of tickets for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

“This tournament is in high demand by all countries as it is the first event to chase points towards the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. We are happy with the results achieved by the team even though the players had to compete in cold weather” , said Jarot Hernowo. , coordinator of the Indonesian para-badminton team.
