Reduce your weight and help with constipation: psyllium husks are so good

What do psyllium husks provide?

Flea seed pods are the seed pods of red-brown seeds. They are reminiscent of fleas, which is why they bear their name. They are mainly grown in India and Pakistan and sold as food and medicine. They are a herbal bulking agent and are used to regulate the bowels. For example, they help with diarrhea or constipation. Its regulating effect is due to the vegetable fibers it contains. As a result, the integuments absorb a lot of water and trigger the defecation reflex. At the same time, they stimulate intestinal activity and more water is absorbed. Therefore, they also help against diarrhea. Flea seeds cleanse the intestines and rid us of toxins.

Lose weight with flea seeds

Flea seeds contain plant fiber. Absorbed carbohydrates are processed more slowly and the feeling of hunger sets in later. They also store a lot of water, which is why the feeling of satiety sets in earlier. Flea seeds are therefore ideal for losing weight.

Flea seeds are also useful for type 2 diabetics: they keep insulin levels constant for longer and lower cholesterol levels.

Flea seed shells have about 100g:

  • 78g of fiber
  • 187 calories,
  • 2.5g protein
  • 4 grams of carbohydrates
  • 0.5 grams of fat

With them, it’s easy to get your daily dietary fiber intake.

Helps with constipation

In case of constipation, psyllium husks can revive digestion. In less severe cases, one or two teaspoons of psyllium husk should be mixed daily in a large glass of water, reports the magazine “Senioren Ratgeber” (issue 05/2022). The mixture is then drunk in small sips, but quickly. Important: You should then drink another glass of water.
