38% power supply from solar/wind; 2532 consumers switched to green electricity: Adani report for 2023

MUMBAI: While 2,532 consumers of Adani Electricity have decided to do so green energy In 2023, 38% of the electricity supplied in the city came from solar and wind sources, according to a trends report from the utility last year.
According to the report, around 88% of consumers are – Adani has 31.5 lakh consumers in the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai – had opted for digital bill payment. “More than 3 lakh consumers have also signed up to receive digital electricity bills and ditched the paper bills,” an official said, adding that this has indirectly helped in saving the felling of several trees.
While June 9 was the day the city reached its peak demand, Adani Electricity recorded a record demand of 2160 MW. The report further said that air conditioner consumption was highest in Mumbai in May last year.
The utility had 270 rooftop solar panels to promote renewable energy. According to the trend report, the company also planted enough trees (452,892 to be exact).
The report states: “On the day of Diwali“We achieved 100% renewable energy for four hours, avoiding 9.82 million kg of CO2 emissions.”
Up to 74,243 electricity columns were built over a length of 24,732 km to provide reliable and uninterrupted supply to over 3 million consumers in the city. “In CSR Adani Electricity has touched 3,563 lives through its initiatives, including educating 237 women and empowering the underprivileged,” the report added.
