2 Indonesian women's doubles absent in Malaysia and India

Jakarta: Women's Doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti decided to withdraw from participation in the 2024 Malaysia Open and Indian Open tournaments. Maximizing Apriya's injury recovery was the reason for this withdrawal.

Coach Eng Hian said the decision was taken after discussions with the Binpres chief and the PBSI team of doctors. Furthermore, Eng Hian explained that Apri's condition was showing encouraging progress but she still needed time to truly be 100 percent ready to compete.

“After discussing with the head of Binpres and the PBSI team of doctors, in this case Professor Nicolaas (C. Budhiparama), it was indeed better to give Apriyani a longer period of rest while she was recovering from his calf injury,” said Eng Hian, familiarly known as Didi.

“I have therefore decided to withdraw Apri/Fadia's participation in the 2024 Malaysia and India Open next week,” he continued.

“Apri's condition is pretty good, but we want to see him in the next 10 days, we want him to be 100 percent ready and then he can compete again. Regarding the race for the Olympics, let us in the coaching staff think about it, he just needs to focus on healing,” Didi said.

Besides Apri/Fadia, it is also confirmed that the couple Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari withdrew because Rebekah is ill. “Ribka is ill and has not been able to return to training as of today, so I have also withdrawn Rebekah/Lanny from the Malaysian Open,” concluded Didi.
