Quarrel over deputy minister's statement against “former CM”

BHOPAL: Comments from the Minister of State for Tourism Sleep Ahirwar sparked political strife in Madhya Pradesh, with Congress said it was targeting former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and the BJP argued that the former PCC chief Kamal Natalso a former CMis the target.
When asked by journalists about the former chief minister who had “adopted” the Bada Malehra area, Ahirwar was heard saying in the video: “Look at the current chief minister. The former chief minister had adopted so many of these principles. That's why you see results. … He would just adopt, but not do anything. »
He went on to say, “The current Chief Minister has also adopted it, and the way our former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan worked will also be adopted by our current Chief Minister. »
Bada Malehra, which was former CM Uma Bharti's constituency, was adopted by Chouhan in September 2022, and this was announced in a press release, the Congress said.
State PCC chief media in-charge Piyush Babele spoke to X and said, “Vice Minister Dileep Ahirwar launched a major attack on Shivraj Singh Chouhan for adopting Bada Malehra. When I raised the issue, the BJP spokesperson started saying that the attack was aimed at the former chief minister of the Congress party (Kamal Nath). But Bada Malehra was adopted by Chouhan and not the Congress Prime Minister. The BJP condemned its own leader and his 18-year government. There's a fight going on. »
Ahirwar is the first legislator from Chandla SC constituency in Chhatarpur district. Bada Malehra, in the same district, is a neighboring constituency. This is Ahirwar's first visit to Chhatarpur after being named minister.
Based on Ahirwar's comments in the second half, the state BJP accused the Congress of releasing a “doctored video”. “The lies of Congress members have been exposed,” BJP spokesperson Ashish Agarwal said regarding the lies and confusion spread by the Congress. “The actual video was edited and Congress released a fake product from its lies factory,” he added.
Contrary to BJP's claim that the video was fake, Babele issued a government press release dated September 4, 2022 which read: “Announcing the adoption of Bada Malehra by Chief Minister Shri Chouhan”.
