REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NEW DELHI – Indian human rights activist, Sabarimala Jayakanthan has converted to Islam after reading the contents of the Quran.

“I changed my name to Fatimah out of love and respect for the daughter of the Prophet Mohammed SAW,” he explained in a video taken inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

In another video, Sabrimala explains why she decided to convert to Islam. Sabrimala revealed how drawn she was to the Quran.

“I wondered why there was so much hatred towards Muslims in our country, and I started reading the Koran, out of curiosity and without prior prejudice, and then I knew the answer. Now I love Islam more than myself,” he said.

Sabrimala narrated herself using the name Fatimah which is the name of the daughter of Prophet Muhammad SAW is to respect and love Prophet Muhammad.

Sabrimala asks Muslims to present Al-Quran in the world. He wondered why many people only hide the Quran at home. Sabrimala also encouraged the world to read the Quran.

Sabrimala embraced Islam amid growing hostility and persecution against Muslims in India.
