Dallas: The annual 3DExperience World event hosted by Dassault Systèmes always features a “Playground” space, a display of companies and their work using solutions such as the 3DExperience Works and Solidworks design platforms.
The one that has caught the eye is an Indian startup called Qargos. Creation of two-wheeled vehicles, notably motorcycles for logistics couriers, entirely designed from scratch with Dassault Systèmes solutions.
Different from general motorcycles, the Qargos F9 motorcycle has a boss in the middle. On the other hand, this vehicle has been directly installed with a number of sensors with current logistics technology features in the form of fleet management based on AI, machine learning and IoT.
“The 3DExperience platform makes a very important contribution to the optimization of engineering processes, the development of virtual twins and the integration of all data. They provide fully integrated modeling and simulation (modsim),” said Alok Das, co-founder of Qargos.
The challenges start from designing the Qargos F9 when used in the real world, such as aerodynamic forces and ease of maneuvering, engineering the components so that they can be manufactured and the time required during manufacturing, up to 'to other complex things done by Dassault. Systemes 3DExperience Works modeling and simulation platform.
Alok claims to be able to reduce operational costs by up to 90 percent. The simulation functionality of Simulia 3DExperience Works helps Qargos perform virtual testing with accurate real-world scenarios so that vehicle designs can be refined before production.
Qargos F9 is a two-wheeled logistics vehicle that addresses the need for greater volume capacity than a normal motorcycle but remains agile compared to a four-wheeled vehicle.
Not only can it carry loads of up to 120 kg and a volume of 225 liters, but the Qargos F9 is also an electric vehicle or EV. Alok said his work is a solution for environmental sustainability as the logistics sector expands in growing countries.
Alok said that all processes from design and production to testing were carried out virtually from the Solidworks platform to 3DExperience Works. Qargos F9 is patented in 40 countries and operates in India.
