Indian Ambassador Shri Sandeep Chakravort discusses cooperation in education and technology

RM.id Free people – Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, Shri Sandeep Chakravorty, visited the General Directorate Office of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in Jakarta, Monday (26/2/2024). This visit aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of education and digital technology.

Ambassador Chakravorty was received by PBNU General President Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya), PBNU Deputy General President (Waketum) H Amin Said Husni, PBNU Deputy General Secretary (Wasekjen) Ahmad Ginanjar Sya'ban and Wasekjen Mas'ud Saleh.

“I am grateful to the PBNU president who accepted me. “The meeting was very productive and we shared views that could strengthen relations between the two countries,” said Ambassador Chakravorty, quoted from the PBNU website, Tuesday (27/2/2024).

During his visit, he admitted that he was able to exchange ideas on many topics with NU personalities, with the discussion focusing on efforts to increase cooperation in the fields of education, technology and digitization.

“We work in the national interest and we work with all those who believe in global peace and security,” explained the ambassador who previously served in Peru.

“We believe that Indonesia's progress can enable it to play a greater role in the world and will benefit all of us,” he continued.

Ambassador Chakravorty also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the two countries to achieve their goals as developed countries. Like Indonesia's gold in 2045, the country of Bollywood aims to make India a developed country by 2047. “This will only be achieved if India and Indonesia work together,” did he declare.

In addition, he stressed, India, Indonesia and countries in the southern hemisphere must have their own position and not be easily influenced by big countries.

“Together we fight for the right to vote and have an opinion so that we can develop according to the hopes we dream of,” he concluded.
