Stepperg and Riedensheim are not metropolises. Anyone who has lived here all their life can still be considered a globetrotter. Like Anneliese and Ludwig Böld, who have lived here for more than 80 years and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday.

“We have already been to Mauritius and India and have taken cruises in the Mediterranean and Norway”, rejoices Anneliese Böld. “We go on vacation three or four times a year,” says Ludwig Böld, but his granddaughter Alexandra protests. “Better to say six to eight times,” she says. The pusher and “travel broom” is Anneliese Böld, “if he doesn’t slow me down”, she says. The main destination is now Lake Garda.

And that’s why they keep in shape. For 40 years, she has been going to Rennertshofen for women’s gymnastics, accompanied by her husband, who then walks up the six kilometers on foot via the Hartlberg. They also do their daily walks up the mountain and then dive into the pond if possible. “Every second Thursday afternoon we go to Hertlein to dance,” she says.

Anneliese Böld comes from Stepperg, where 60 years ago there were more shops, pubs, dancing and music than in Riedensheim. This is where the two met and fell in love. And so they got married on July 6, 60 years ago, and then moved to a house in Riedensheim that was over 200 years old. “It used to be an electoral stable,” says Ludwig Böld. It is not known exactly how old the house is, which was built with rubble. A tiled stove that once existed dates back to 1794. Of course, the building has now been completely renovated, but the thick walls are still standing, so it is pleasantly cool in summer; in winter, it takes a lot of heating.

Ludwig Böld began his career on his grandparents’ farm. He then worked as a truck driver and in an insurance company. His wife worked for the district court in Neuburg for decades. In addition to his professional activities, Ludwig Böld was also active in various associations: 44 years with the fire brigade and 26 years as a district fire inspector.

16 years old Deputy Mayor

As if that weren’t enough, he served on the city council for 40 years. First in the initially independent Riedensheim, since 1978 in the municipality of Rennertshofen. He also served as deputy mayor from 1992 to 2008. The two raised two daughters and a son. In the meantime, the family has grown with four grandchildren and a year ago with a great-granddaughter. Mayor Georg Hirschbeck (CSU) also came with a small birthday present. He wished the happy couple good health and many more years together.
