The ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian team arrived in Delhi from Barbados on Thursday and were given a warm welcome by fans waiting for their heroes to see the trophy.

From the hotel, Team India reached the hotel where they will stay before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Virat, Rohit, Hardik and head coach Rahul Dravid were spotted at the hotel.

Team members, support staff, their families and media were stranded in Barbados as Hurricane Beryl, then a Category 4 storm, passed through Barbados, with Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown closed for three days.

Organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah, the flight took off on July 2 and arrived in Delhi around 6am on Thursday. Board officials and members of the tournament's media team were also present.

Bumrah, who scored 15 runs throughout the tournament at an impressive economy rate of 4.17, was awarded the 'Player of the Tournament' award.

A special cake representing the T20 World Cup will be cut at the ITC Maurya to celebrate the victory.

Similar to what other teams do after winning the title, the Rohit-led team will take an open-top bus in Mumbai from Marine Drive to the famous Wankhede Stadium from 5 pm onwards to celebrate.
