The US said it knew that Iran and India had signed an agreement over the Chabahar port

Any country that has business ties with Iran runs the risk of sanctions, the United States said, noting that it was aware that Iran and India had signed an agreement on the port of Chabahar.
“We are aware of these reports that Iran and India have signed an agreement on Chabahar port. “I will let the Indian government talk about its own foreign policy objectives towards Chabahar port as well as its own bilateral relations with Iran,” State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters at his daily press conference.
“As far as the United States is concerned, I just want to say that the US sanctions against Iran remain in force and we will continue to enforce them,” he said in response to a question on India's deal with Iran over the strategic Chabahar port.
“You've heard us say numerous times that any company, anyone considering doing business with Iran, needs to be aware of the potential risk that they're exposing themselves to and the potential risk of sanctions,” Patel said.
India and Iran on Monday signed a 10-year deal to operate a terminal at Iran's strategic Chabahar port, a move that will strengthen regional connectivity as well as trade ties.
