Gill and Bopanna take a short break. The cricketer will return to play on February 15, while the tennis player is likely to return in March.
Rising cricket star Shubman Gill shares his reaction after meeting Indian tennis legend Rohan Bopanna. The 43-year-old tennis player has been in the news since winning his maiden men's doubles title at the 2024 Australian Open and becoming the oldest and number one Grand Slam champion in the history of the tennis.
Gill, who is taking a short break from cricket, met the legend and shared photos on his Instagram account. He described Bopanna as an “absolute legend” as he shared the photo on his story.
Like Shubman Gill, Bopanna also took a short break from tennis after breaking the record in January. While the junior opener will play in Rajkot on February 15, the tennis player is expected to return in early March at the Indian Wells Masters.
This is not the first time Bopanna has met superstars from other sports since winning the Australian Open. A few days ago, the tennis legend met Sunil Chhetri at a Bengaluru FC match, where the Indian football captain gifted him a jersey.
