The moderate to difficult trail leads 65.5 kilometers from Matrei to Kals to the peaks on the south side of the Glockner and overcomes 3737 meters above sea level. The route is divided into six stages. From Matrei it goes to the Alpenhütte Glocknerkrone, the Sudetendeutsche Hütte, the Kalser Tauernhaus, the Luckner- or Glorer Hütte and the Alpengasthof Glödis. Each stage has its own entrance and exit.
