One Future Football launches the world’s first digital football league.

Indonesian team named Inter Nusantara FC have successfully won the first round of One Future Football (1FF).

They managed to win in spectacular fashion with a final score of 4-3 over guest Bengaluru Phoenix at Garuda Stadium on Friday night (30/6) WIB.

But what is the 1FF league and how does the competition work?

1FF is the world’s first global digital football competition, which started on June 23, 2023 for the pre-season and was opened by Bondi FC against Tokyo Youth Club, which ended 1-1 , Friday (6/26) WIB .

The competition brings together over 250 players from 12 clubs around the world in an innovative competition, where all teams and athletes have been created online. The club is owned and operated by real companies – such as football media Football Co and Indian multinational conglomerate JSW – while also being owned by a number of sports celebrities including Jesse Lingard, Patrice Evra, Chris Smalling and Kamaru Usman.

It doesn’t stop there, the stadiums of clubs competing in 1FF are also run in the same way, where teams compete home and away in a league format, culminating in the play-offs and the final . However, this is different from real-world football in general, from how matches are consumed to clubs and players, all of which have been specifically designed and created to engage fans through their virtual space.

Additionally, fans will have more of a say in the sport due to the unique characteristics that allow them to own and influence their teams and players – determining everything from which brand gets to sponsor the team, to staff. coaches and even the players they are going to sign.

The 1FF season spans three months, with 11 weeks of regular rounds (two rounds per week), followed by weeks of play-offs and finals. To keep it interesting and engage younger audiences, matches are streamed for free via eight- to ten-minute highlights on social media.

The league is powered by two unique artificial intelligence (AI) engines – one on the pitch and one off the pitch. The former determines thousands of results per game, representing every touch, pass, shot, foul and clearance of teams fighting on the field.

Then there’s the second narrative engine, assigning real-world situations to players outside of match day – from positive scenarios such as achieving a charitable cause to more controversial ones such as team players battling each other. during a training session. This gives 1FF a complete ecosystem for fans to engage with all aspects of it.

1FF teams geographically represent new football fans around the world rather than just focusing on major European countries. The 12 teams are FC Angelenos (Los Angeles, United States of America), Bengaluru Phoenix FC (Bengaluru, India), Bondi FC (Sydney, Australia), Clube de Futebol Brasil Amazonia (Manaus, Brazil), Club Sportivo Palermo (Buenos Aires, Argentina). ), Inter Nusantara FC (Jakarta, Indonesia), Manhattan FC (New York, USA), Naija United FC (Lagos, Nigeria), Paris St-Denis FC (Saint-Denis, France), Riyadh Stars FC (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ), South London United FC (London, England) and Tokyo Youth Club (Tokyo, Japan).

Each club has a crest, kit and roster which is signed in advance and contains top talent who will provide their own expertise and access to their supporters.
