That’s how he decided to commemorate World Environment Day on June 11, 2023 with a green operation.
Rajesh Ranjan went for this purpose to the location of the car company Tata Africa-Côte d’Ivoire at PK24 in the Akoupé-Zeudji industrial zone to carry out reforestation.
This operation made it possible to plant 100 young plants consisting of three types of trees, namely cocoa trees, dwarf bamboo and shade trees.
Initiated by this car company, this wish aims to contribute to the restoration of forest cover in this region. The Indian Ambassador applauded this determination and stated that it is he who should contribute to saving the earth which is our mother.
“We have come to help Mother Earth heal. We do not realize that climate change makes it possible to face many challenges. By planting trees, we are helping fight climate change and restoring life,” added Dr. Raje Ranjan.
The diplomat also stressed that a series of tree plantings are planned across the national territory. “This is our way of promoting human well-being and protecting the environment,” he said.
For the company’s general manager, Vivek Saraswat, planting these trees is part of India’s cherished tradition and consists of giving back to nature, what she has given, adding that it is a matter of “ensuring one’s responsibility with regard to the environment”.
“Previously at this location there were trees that we cut down to build our business. Therefore it is important to help restore what has been destroyed,” explained Vivek Saraswat. Not without fail pointed out that the goal is to plant 1000 tree seedlings by 2024.
“There are 300 types of seeds planted. Our target is to plant 1000 trees. We want to protect the environment. Our company has concern for environmental protection and human promotion.”
The company’s managing director also plans domestic reforestation operations.
It should be noted that this is the second reforestation operation. The first was carried out in April 2023 by planting 200 saplings.
