Why Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should play in T20 World Cup 2024
Speaking to Star Sports about India's chances, Pathan noted that the team needs the expertise of experienced players like Sharma and Kohli on unfamiliar pitches in the United States. While the former Indian star admitted that the availability of both players will depend on the team management and their fitness, he would like to see both players on the field, citing Hitman's form in ODI cricket.
“Personally, I would like to see Virat on the field because when we spoke two years ago, he was clearly not at his best. But the IPL and the last T20 were the most amazing tournaments for him. Also, when you play in countries like West Indies and USA, there are a lot of unknown pitches and here you will need experienced players like Kohli and Rohit Sharma on and off the field.Irfan Pathan further said Sports star.
“The performance of both players also depends on the team management and their fitness, but I would like to see both of them on the field, especially since Rohit has also been fit and running a lot in One Day Cricket.” he added.
