Welspun India, one of the leading Indian textile companies, focuses largely on the development of its employees and society.

In its latest initiative, the company has developed NEEV Encouraging Women Entrepreneurs, an exhibit providing a platform for aspiring women entrepreneurs among family members of Welspun employees.

The success of the exhibition, held in Mumbai, Vapi and Anjar, has given the company the confidence to make it a regular event.

The exclusive initiative for women aims to help them demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills and provide them with a platform to promote their business.

Any woman who is a direct family member of a Welspun employee can participate in this initiative. The women have to work in any company – it can be of any size, from micro and home initiatives to start-ups.

There are also no limits to the product category; From showcasing skills like embroidery or cooking to selling clothes or home decor, women are free to choose what to showcase at NEEV.

Dipali Goenka, CEO & MD, Welspun India, interacted with the women at the show and appreciated their efforts.

There was enthusiastic participation from women and the exhibition had a diverse mix on display ranging from home businesses showcasing the skills of the owner to a variety of start-ups.

The NEEV exhibition not only opened up exciting marketing opportunities for the participants, but also created concrete sales for them.

The company has more than 25,000 employees and the exhibitions are planned around festive occasions in India. The event is an opportunity for an equal number of households to experience first-hand the wide range of women-owned businesses and the diverse products they offer, and also serves as a one-stop shop for festival shopping.

“Integrated growth has always been a core value at Welspun and we are firmly committed to empowering women. For this we have initiatives like SPUN, Welspun Super Women Program and Wel-Netrutva. NEEV, meaning “Foundation,” was created as an extension of this commitment to our values and in alignment with our belief of “One Welspun, One Family,” according to the company.

The company is also planning another exhibition around Diwali, where it expects increased participation from Welspun employees and their families. “We hope the holiday season will help attendees grow their sales and business,” added the company’s spokesman.
