BORNEONEWS, Moscow – British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, in a chance meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, launched the new UK-India Technology Security Initiative, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said in a statement.
“A new UK-India Technology Security Initiative has been agreed, providing for significant collaboration on telecommunications security and opening up investment in a range of new technologies,” the office said in a statement on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The new initiative will renew and deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership, with a focus on strengthening economic growth in both countries, the statement said.
The initiative also aims to strengthen collaboration in critical and emerging technologies in priority sectors, the statement added.
The initiative will also set out a new approach to how the UK and India will work together on key technologies of this decade, including telecommunications, critical minerals, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, health technology and biotechnology, advanced materials and semiconductors.
