Uber News: Uber CEO Says ‘Zero Truth’ To Claim He Investigated Sale Of Business In India

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said a news report claiming Uber was investigating a sale of its Indian ride-hailing business was untrue.

“…there is zero truth to this story – it has not been investigated, it has not been considered, there has been no discussion, at any level…” he posted on Twitter.

The report, released by Bloomberg news outlet Thursday morning, says the American ride-hailing company has been exploring options for its Indian ride-hailing business, including a sale, but talks have been put on hold after tech startup valuations plummeted.

According to the report, Uber began evaluating alternatives and reached out to several interested parties after realizing it had limited potential for profitable expansion in the country.

The company competes with Bengaluru-based ride-hailing company Ola in India.
