The report, released by Bloomberg news outlet Thursday morning, says the American ride-hailing company has been exploring options for its Indian ride-hailing business, including a sale, but talks have been put on hold after tech startup valuations plummeted.
According to the report, Uber began evaluating alternatives and reached out to several interested parties after realizing it had limited potential for profitable expansion in the country.
The company competes with Bengaluru-based ride-hailing company Ola in India.
