This train makes about fifty stops in India’s most populous states. Created under the British Empire in the late 19th century, the trail was previously reserved for British colonists and their servants.
Every evening in Bombay, a historic train arrives at the station, one of the busiest in India. Thousands of passengers board there every day, for the 2,000-kilometre journey via one of the world’s most extensive rail networks.
This train makes about fifty stops in India’s most populous states. To reach Kolkata from Bombay, it takes 36 hours. In third grade, hundreds of travelers piled in. Created under the British Empire in the late 19th century, the line previously reserved for British colonists and their servants.
