Toyota presence Hyder in India, the representative of the Japanese brand in the country responded. According to Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), each country has different strategies regarding new products.

The Hyryder is India’s first five-seater midsize SUV with hybrid technology. This car is the result of a collaboration with Maruti Suzuki.

The TAM explained that at that time, it would further maximize existing products. Toyota has a number of five-passenger SUVs in Indonesia such as the Hyryder, namely the Raize, Corolla Cross and C-HR.

“Also, each country’s strategy is different,” TAM Marketing Director Anton Jimmy said via text message when asked about Hyryder’s possibility of entering Indonesia on Monday (4/7).

Anton hesitates to talk a lot about new products, especially the Hyryder, which if in Indonesia it is possible to compete directly with the Hyundai Creta.

“I can’t comment on future models,” Anton said.

Hyryder is currently being introduced in India, pre-orders are open but official pricing will be announced next month. A rebadged version of the Suzuki Hyryder is also sold in India, although the official name is unknown.

Hyryder comes with two engine options, full hybrid and mild hybrid. The full hybrid engine uses Toyota technology, while the mild hybrid uses the Suzuki Ertiga.

Earlier, Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) revealed that it would study the Hyryder twin for Indonesia. It is possible that the new model will replace the S-Cross.

“Still under study,” said Donny Saputra, Marketing Director of SIS in Malang, on Monday (6/20).
