Three Indonesian Chess Players Have Brilliant Performances in August

Elshinta.com – August has become an important moment for Indonesian chess after three athletes namely Azarya Jodi Setyaki, Dewi Ardhiani Anastasia Citra and Irene Kharisma Sukandar achieved brilliant achievements.

For two weeks, Citra has been legally awarded the WGM title as it is listed on the FIDE website.

Citra became the third Indonesian chess player to win the most prestigious title after Irene Kharisma Sukandar in 2008 and Medina Warda Aulia in 2013.

His two wins came from GM Jobava Baadur (2585, Georgia) and GM Robert Hovhannisyan (2599, Armenia).

For Irene, this is her second Norma GM. He won the first GM Standard when he became Asian Continental Champion in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2012. “It took me ten years to reach the second GM Standard,” Irene said.

PB Percasi GM President Utut Adianto admitted he was proud of the achievements of the three Indonesian chess players.
