Chinese and Indian troops were involved in a bloody clash at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) or border between the two countries in Galwan Valley, Aksai-Chin-Ladakh region around the Himalayan mountains, which constitutes a dispute between the two countries. .

The clashes began when China said three Indian soldiers crossed the LAC border around mid-June.

China said Indian soldiers crossed the border area twice on Monday (15/6).

Beijing said the Indian army carried out provocations and attacked Chinese troops, leading to inevitable physical clashes between troops in the border area.

Meanwhile, India says 20 of its soldiers were killed during the two-day clashes.

From the first day of clashes, India reported three soldiers killed. However, a day later, the number of soldiers killed increased by 17.

On the other hand, China did not mention the number of soldiers victims of the clashes.

Since then, the two countries have tried to resolve the border conflict through diplomacy. Senior officials from the two countries also met to ease the conflict.

Despite this, tensions and the arms race persist. Both countries continue to deploy troops and a number of key defense systems to the border.

The border conflict has also caused negative sentiment among the people of both countries. In India, a group of citizens burned Chinese flags and photos of President Xi Jinping.

Tensions arose again last September. Indian and Chinese soldiers accused each other of firing shots and crossing the border.

This triggered the deployment of tens of thousands of troops from both countries to the border located more than 4,000 meters above sea level.

The same month, the Indian army accused Chinese soldiers of kidnapping five of its civilians in northern Ladakh, near the disputed border. India filed the charges after the disappearance of the five people.

The border dispute in the Himalayas between China and India has been an issue in relations between the two countries for some time. Both countries have claimed control of the region since the mid-1960s.

Initially, the two countries were involved in a short war in 1962. At that time, China took over the border area from India.

Since then, tension has never disappeared on the border between China and India. However, the last major clash involving weapons took place in 1975.

The clashes last June constitute the first, deadliest conflict between the armed forces of the two border countries since 1975.
