Jakarta: Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has again accepted dozens of foreign students or international students to participate in various academic study programs entering the odd academic year 2022/2023. A total of 53 students from different countries are spread over several departments of ITS.
The 53 international students participated in a number of educational programs at ITS. A total of 39 students participated in the program exchange studenteight students participated in the internship program and six enrolled as students full diploma at ITS.
Octaviyanti Dwi Wahyurini, senior director of international promotion and mobility at the Directorate of Global Partnerships ITS (DKG), revealed that during the two years of the pandemic, his party only accepted international or overseas students online. Now, after the pandemic is over, ITS has again opened a program for international students to take offline.

He said last semester, just after the Indonesian border opened, ITS only accepted 14 international students. However, current foreign travel regulations are more flexible, so this semester more foreign students can be accepted.
“Students come from various countries like Malaysia, France, Denmark, Germany, Syria, India, Japan and Finland,” Octaviyanti said in a written statement, Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
The woman who goes by the colloquial name Oyin explained that students who have participated in student exchanges have enrolled through the nomination of ITS partner universities. Meanwhile, students with full degree programs register through the simad.its.ac.id page.
After being officially registered, students participate in orientation activities at ITS on August 24, 2022. Students who participate in the student exchange program will then follow activities for one semester.
Then, for the internship program, students will do internships in their respective departmental laboratories.
“Then, for those who follow the full course, there are the students of S2 and S3, of which only two people follow the joint program or S1. Double Degree” explained the professor from the Department of Visual Communication Design (DKV).
He mentioned the departments where international students do internships and student exchanges at ITS, including the departments of Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Materials and Metallurgy Engineering, Physics of engineering and environmental engineering.
In addition, the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (PWK), Geophysical Engineering, Visual Communication Design (DKV), Interior Design, Business Management, Development Studies, Electrical Engineering and computer engineering.
Oyin said several international students have arrived in Surabaya since mid-August. They were picked up by ITS Global Engagement volunteers at Juanda International Airport.
“Students look very happy and excited when they arrive in Indonesia,” he said.
