Toyota will launch its newest SUV today in India, called the Toyota Hyryder. The Hyryder will compete with the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Skoda Kushaq. The car will also have a Maruti Suzuki version that will be co-produced with the Toyota version at the Bidadi plant in Karnataka. Toyota Hyryder will be a hybrid SUV. Ahead of its worldwide launch on July 1, the automaker opened the curtains on the Toyota Hyryder and released a tantalizing teaser on its social media platforms.

The Toyota Hyryder is an Urban Cruiser that will run on a full hybrid powertrain, hence the Hyryder name. For the first time, the video reveals what the All-New Toyota Hyryder actually looks like. Sharing the clip, Toyota India wrote, “HY there. Wouldn’t you agree that it’s time for our readers to speed things up? Stay tuned. »

As you can see in the video, the Toyota Hyryder will feature a premium chrome front fascia. Elements such as the daytime running light-emitting diode (LED) lights that flank the headlights, the black grille connecting the two headlights, and the large air dam, give the front a very clean look. .

The side profile of the car isn’t fully revealed, but it does show off the ‘Hybrid’ badge placed right in front of the rear-view mirror which also features the turn signal. The clip briefly shows the body wrap surrounding the car in 360 degrees. The rear features C-shaped taillights, joined by a chrome tripod in the center which is the Toyota logo. The car in the video also confirms one of the car paints that will be available.

Not much is known under the hood, but the engine is sure to feature mild and full hybrid technology. The specifications are said to be a 1.5-liter K15C engine paired with hybrid technology.

The car will also have a Maruti Suzuki version that will be co-produced with the Toyota version at the Bidadi plant in Karnataka. Once launched, the car will compete with the Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and Hyundai Creta.
