Rivière-du-Loup – Pistol director Renée Beaulieu's first feature film, “Le Garagiste”, was presented at the Jaipur International Festival, in India, which ran from January 2 to 6.
Filmed partly in the Basque region from May 23 to June 9, 2014, the fictional drama “Le Garagiste” touches on the theme of organ donation, through a love story and exploring all the characters' relationships with the dead. “Le Garagiste” stars actors Normand D'Amour, Pierre-Yves Cardinal, Louise Portal, Nathalie Cavezzali and Michel Dumont.
The film “Le Garagiste” and “My Enemies” by Stéphane Géhami are two Canadian representations on Indian soil.
SUMMARY
Adrien, a mechanic from a small Quebec town on the banks of the St. Lawrence, had been hoping for a kidney transplant for 5 years. Meanwhile, his life is on hold. He tried his best to maintain his garage, his relationships, despite the hours spent several times a week on dialysis and his energy waning due to his illness. But hiring a young man from a distant village in the garage triggers a series of upheavals in Adrien's life that will reveal him in unexpected and disturbing ways.
