The Embassy of India is organizing the AKAM Golf Cup 2022 to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of India

While the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia is celebrated every August 17, India commemorates the Independence Day every August 15.

For the celebration, in order not to lose Indonesia’s Independence Day celebration, India also held various activities.

Specifically in Indonesia, the Indian Embassy hosted the inaugural AKAM Golf Cup 2022 at the magnificent Imperial Club Golf, Lippo Karawaci.

India’s Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste, HE Manoj Kumar Bharti explained that India celebrated 75 years of independence on August 15, 2022, celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Festival of the Great Elixir of Independence) throughout India.

“India and Indonesia are one of the largest economies in the world. The two countries cooperate closely at the bilateral and multilateral levels. With the holding of this golf tournament, it is hoped that the golf communities of both countries can come together to explore new avenues with the aim of mutually beneficial cooperation,” said Manoj, who is also a sports lover. golf, Wednesday (8/24/2022).

He admitted, dedicating the event to the spirit of unity and cooperation under the current and future G20 presidencies of Indonesia and India. The Golf Cup held attracted the participation of high profile business, government and political circles.

Ambassador Manoj was joined by a number of other ambassadors, including Ambassador Dian Triansyah Djani and HE Andy Rachmianto, from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
