TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Co-founder and CEO Pluang, Claudia Kolonas, said that the investment trend in Indonesia is now carried out by young people. Unlike the old days, which typically invest in their 30s or 40s.
“Study investment we must fight. It’s better to make mistakes when you’re young,” Claudia told the Young Entrepreneurship Challenge at the Jakarta Theater on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Pluang, Claudia said, currently has 7.9 million users. About 2 million users come from outside of Java.
“So it’s something that shows that fintech or digital financial innovation is helping not only in Java, but also outside of Java,” he said. According to him, it is because the bank, asset management or Insurance is not yet heading to some parts of Indonesia.
Claudia also dreams of continuing to improve financial literacy in Indonesia. Because the numbers are still low. “Below 40%,” he said. This condition is not in line with the rapid growth of investors this year.
“It’s something I still miss,” Claudia said.
In response to this condition, Clauda admitted that Pluang was actively providing financial education. One of them is through media and social media content such as telegram chats and webinars.
“We also carried out several initiatives thanks to the funding we received,” said Claudia. The funds come from investors via the fundraiser he leads.
