Esports News: VALORANT Indonesia team BOOM Esports has once again been invited to compete in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) off-season, this time at the Penta Pro Series. In the first Main Event Group Stage, BOOM lost to Singapore champions Bleed eSports 2-0 on Wednesday (12/21).
The Penta Pro Series is a $27,000 online tournament hosted by Penta Esports. Up to four of India’s top teams and two invited SEA teams participated in this event to win the grand prize of USD 18,000, or approximately IDR 280 million.
The bleeding still appears to be kryptonite for BOOM Esports’ new roster lineup. Launched from Esports.ID, BOOM still lost to Bleed in the SEA level tournament at the end of 2022 and needs to be evaluated before the next VCT 2023.
Previously at LAN India Invitational, Hyederbard, Black Wolves failed to qualify for the playoffs due to their inability to compete against Bleed eSports in the preliminary round. There, BOOM rivals Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ).
This failure also made BOOM so far to get a single trophy in the off-season VCT series with its new roster which contains the likes of SeveriNe and Shiro.
The result of the loss in the opening group stage of the Penta Pro Series event did not eliminate BOOM Esports’ chances of qualifying for the Grand Finals. They still have one last chance for the remaining two days to finish in the top 2 of the standings and qualify for the final.
We lost the game against @ggBleed 2-0. GG!
There is still time to fix our mistakes, back to the drawing board!#HungryBeastpic.twitter.com/SJPIF1XF3J
