Under the terms of the agreement, Suzlon will install 23 Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower wind turbine generators (WTGs), each rated at 3 MW. Located in Karnataka, the project is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024.
For this project, the S144-140m model from the new 3 MW series was chosen, demonstrating confidence in Suzlon technology and know-how. In addition to supplying the wind turbines and supervising and commissioning the project, Suzlon will also provide post-commissioning operations and maintenance.
“We at Suzlon are very proud that a leading Nordic energy company with a proven global track record in renewable energy has trusted Suzlon for its first wind energy project outside of Europe,” said JP Chalasani, Suzlon Group Chief Executive Officer.
Once operational, this large-scale wind power project has the potential to power approximately 56,000 homes and reduce approximately 2.24 million tons of CO2 emissions annually, contributing to India’s Sustainable Development Goals.
