Stree 2 Box Office, Day 2: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's film rakes in Rs 76 crore in India on its opening day.
Stree 2 Box Office Day 2: Amar Kaushik's horror comedy Stree 2, a sequel to the 2018 film Stree, reportedly $118 crores at the Indian box office in two days, according to the producers. The film starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi has made a flying start at the box office. Street 2 box office earnings
On its release day, the film grossed $1,000. $76.5 crores in India, according to the makers. On the second day it brought in more than $41 crore. Now that the weekend is here, and with Raksha Bandhan on Monday, business is expected to pick up, contributing to Stree 2's success at the Indian box office.
Hansal Mehta on Road 2
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has spoken out on the question of who gets the credit for Stree 2’s success. Asking people not to attribute the success to Amar, Shraddha, Rajkummar or producer Maddock Films alone, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Don’t belittle its success by attributing it to one star. It’s a vehicle of talent, laced with writing, direction and superb performances. It’s a win for our beloved Rajkummar because he is a top actor. It’s a win for Amar Kaushik because of his mastery of the medium and his ability to weave a story line expertly into meaningful entertainment for the masses.”
He also mentioned how the film's team as a whole contributed to the film's success, writing, “It's a triumph for Niren Bhatt's writing – from Taarak Mehta to Bala to Bhediya to Munjya, the man has always been up to the task. It's a triumph for the ensemble that has lead actors like Raj and Shraddha. It's a triumph for mainstream Indian cinema. Ultimately, true talent wins.”
About Road 2
Directed by Amar, Stree 2 features Rajkummar and Shraddha reprising their roles from the original. The film is about how Sarkata is now terrorizing the people of Chanderi and they seek help from Stree. The film also features a slew of star appearances that the director has kept under wraps. Varun Dhawan reprises his role as Bhediya, and even features in a song with Shraddha.
