Hundreds of fans, holding banners congratulating their favourite players and waving national flags, gathered outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome the winning players.

One of the fans, Piyush Arora expressed his joy and said, “…We came to T3 because we are very excited. We reached the airport at 3 am.
Viren, a fan of the Indian men's cricket team, said, “I am a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah and I am waiting for him. I have been here since 5:30 am. I am a big fan of the Indian cricket team…” The Indian team arrives at Delhi airport after winning the #T20WorldCup2024 trophy.

“I took two pictures of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. I reached the airport around 4:30 am just to catch a glimpse of the Indian team with the trophy. We are all very happy…” said Shubham, a fan of the Indian men’s cricket team.
Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board wrote on Twitter: “Team India is his home.”
The team is scheduled to leave for Mumbai on Thursday evening. The team will then take part in an open bus tour followed by a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Earlier, World Cup-winning India captain Rohit Sharma had a special message to Indian fans, inviting his loyal supporters to a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday to celebrate the men in blue's triumph in the ICC T20 World Cup.
The Men in Blue beat South Africa by seven runs in the final to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the second time.
