Commenting on Vineeta Singh's “financial indiscipline” in her company, Jeevika said, “It is really demeaning to make such a big statement on national television about financial indiscipline to the extent that the creative team used in the poster.” The kind and the way you communicate reaches a new low. I want to tell these people that I am a whale. Put me on the show. I'm going to tell you how to build a brand without money and kill it with kindness. And they can all do that by saying something positive to the pitchers. They can actually increase our sales. They can actually strengthen the brand. And whatever she says, she’s a veteran in the startup world.”
Jeevika shared that the videos she released to clarify that the theme of the show is to celebrate entrepreneurial breakthroughs but the episode is titled “Is this financial indiscipline?” were rejected. She told ETimes TV, “There is very little media now as my videos are blocked, which is very surprising for me because I am using my own platform to have a voice. Our experience on Shark Tank was interesting to say the least. Why I still use the word “interesting” is because we are also learning. We are also just beginning to learn how far a channel controls the voice and how far they go. I firmly believe that the responsibility for content always lies with the Sharks and the pitchers. We are the ones providing the content. We're the ones telling them this is the part you can edit. So we are responsible. Whatever we say there, all that responsibility lies with us. And that's why I say “interesting” because whoever was sitting there, all five sharks – Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh and Aman Gupta – they all have a lot of experience in building companies. They all saw the lows more than the highs. You must understand that this is not Bigg Boss or Roadies. We are not people who wait in line. We are entrepreneurs, we are building a company. That’s a big responsibility.”
“To make light of this responsibility and make comments about our product, I would like to point out that our brand is portrayed in a bad light. We also created our brand with a lot of love and care. We also saw a lot of fights. And we firmly believe that as business owners, the changes made make us look like idiots,” she added.
Jeevika also said, “We are completely misunderstood. And that is a great responsibility that this channel bears for our brand image. I get comments like, 'Why did you start a company? What do you know?' And all that, well, the trolls will be there no matter what you do, good or bad. But the responsibility for, as they say, “You’re on national television, you’re in your third season,” should fall on the Sharks. You should know that I came to your house. Do you offend guests in this way? You literally sit, I'm there in your tank, standing vulnerable for three hours. There are hundreds of cameramen on one side. You are used to this chair. They have a responsibility to be kinder to us and say nice things about our brand.”
Jeevika shared a lot more about her entire experience, right from behind the scenes to what was shown. Stay updated with the entire interview in this space.
