Jeka Saragih is the first Indonesian MMA athlete to reach the Road to UFC semi-finals.
Previously, Jeka picked up a victory in Singapore in June 2022. He knocked out an Indian athlete, Pawaan Maan.
Admittedly, the lightweight match between Jeka and Pawaan was quite exciting.
In the first round, Jeka Saragih played aggressively throwing hard kicks to Pawaan’s lower body and various hand attacks.
Even though he managed to escape, the Indian fighter was helpless as Jeka locked Pawaan’s body with his knee.
Jeka launched a direct ground attack in round two, which Pawaan countered with an elbow to the back of Jeka’s head.
This caused referee Steve Perceval to stop the match and Pawaan received a point deduction for his actions.
Even though he earned the nickname “The Deadly Kick”, Jeka Saragih managed to knock down Pawaan Maan with a backward punch, which was delivered by the right hand of this fighter from Simalungun, North Sumatra.
Pawaan Maan had to admit Jeka Saragih’s TKO victory over him at minute 2.24 of the third round.
Interviewed by UFC after the match ended, Jeka Saragih was very happy that he could do the spin back technique well and thanked God for giving him the victory.
