Badminton News: Two-time Commonwealth Games champion Saina Nehwal has been named for next month’s Asian Mixed Team Championships Trials, to be held in Dubai from February 14-19.

The Senior Selection Committee held a virtual meeting on December 25 to finalize the team selection trials for the Asian Championships.

Based on the world seeded rankings, the organizers decided to grant direct entries to singles players Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, PV Sindhu and men’s doubles duo Satwiksairaj Ranikreddy and Chirag Shetty.

Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto, Venkat Gaurav Prasad and Juhi Dewangan along with Rohan Kapoor and Sikki Reddy have been invited to tryouts which will select a mixed doubles pair for the event.

BAI has asked state associations to notify players of tryouts.
