Rinov/Pitha eliminated in first round of Indian Open 2024

New Delhi: Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari lost in the first round of the India Open 2024 to Malaysian representatives, Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei. Rinov/Pitha lost 21-14, 11-21 and 11-21 against Chen/Toh.

Rinov/Pitha admitted that they did not play optimally in the match. They were less consistent in implementing game models and therefore failed to find momentum.

“We were less resistant to our playing pattern, while they were more reluctant to play like in the previous match,” Rinov said.

Rinov/Pitha also felt that Chen/Toh performed better and could modify the player's behavior appropriately. Rinov/Pitha think Chen/Toh read their game perfectly.

“They certainly learned from our previous encounter. We managed to win the first game, but we could not maintain our momentum in the second and third games. We were under pressure from their changing pattern of play,” said Pitha said.

Even though they lost, Rinov/Pitha didn't want to give up. They are determined to improve their abilities to perform better in the next tournament.

“As long as we have the opportunity, Rinov and I will do our best whatever the conditions and whatever the means. We will try again in the next tournament,” Pitha said.
