Forum R20 officially closed Chairman General of the Council of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya). India will host R20 Next year.
“Marking the end of this event, there is a knock (of the hammer) to open the door of His help for us,” Gus Yahya said in a written statement from PBNU’s R20 Publishing Team on Thursday (3/11 /2022).
Gus Yahya expressed his gratitude to all the speakers and participants who attended R20.
“Of course, I repeat my thanks and gratitude to all of you, honorable speakers and audience,” he said.
He confirmed the Forum R20 is the beginning of the realization of the hope that NU has achieved so far. NU tries to reach out and find people to become partners in order to produce a global movement.
“We made a universal call and you answered our call,” Gus Yahya said.
“And at this point, I believe we all agree and agree that R20 is not just an event, but growing it into a global movement,” Gus Yahya continued.
In addition, Gus Yahya entrusted the organization of the G20 Religious Forum 2023 to an Indian religious figure, H.H. Mahamahopadhyaya Swami Bhadreshdas. This handover was marked by the handing over of the banner and signs of the R20 forum.
The two were accompanied by a number of personalities, such as the head of the Muslim World League (MWL) for Southeast Asia and Australia, Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Khayyat, the representative of the Indonesian government Muhsin Syihab , Ahmad Suaedy as chairman of the R20 forum committee, and a number of religious figures from India.
The G20 or R20 Religious Forum was organized by PBNU with the Muslim World League (MWL) in Nusa Dua, Bali on November 2-3, 2022. There were 338 confirmed attendees at the R20 event, coming from 32 countries. A total of 124 came from abroad. The forum featured 45 speakers from five continents.
