Underdog Putri Kusuma successfully beat Belgium mainstay Liannr Tan in two straight matches 21-12 and 21-17 in 40 minutes.
This will be Putri Kusuma’s first high-level tournament on home soil and valuable enough experience against this season’s busy schedule to boost his ranking, which is currently 44th in the world.
