India has been criticized for statements by BJP politicians who insulted the Prophet Muhammad.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,JAKARTA – Masses belonging to the Union of Indonesian Muslim Scholars staged a protest outside the Indian Embassy in Jakarta on Friday (10/6/2022).

In their action, the masses called on India to apologize to Muslims for the actions of ruling Bharatiya Jannata Party politicians who insulted the Prophet Muhammad and called on them to boycott Indian products in Indonesia.

Diplomatic criticism continued to pour in following statements by politicians from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, who insulted the Prophet Muhammad. Efforts by the Indian government to defuse the anger of various countries by declaring respect to all religions have not stopped the wave of protests.
