JAKARTA – The TATA group manufactures the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, in India. The plan is for both of these phones to launch at the end of the year, in September or October 2023.

Reporting from The Hans India, Tata was able to take orders thanks to the acquisition of the India Wistron production line.

“The assembly of this iPhone model is different from before. This change signals Apple’s plans to move production out of China,” the page wrote, as cited Monday (5/15/2023).

In 2023, Apple is already manufacturing iPhone SE, iPhone 12 and iPhone 14 in India.

As for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, it will follow the Type-C port, as the common charging and data transfer solution for many Android phones.

Until the iPhone 14 series, Apple used the Lightning charging port, which was difficult to charge.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will also feature a front-facing camera and a Face ID sensor. It’s the same technology as the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

As known, Tata is working hard to acquire Apple’s Wistron production plant, to produce Apple’s iPhones to move its production pipeline out of China, especially iPhone 14.

Apple also opened its first physical outlets in Mumbai and Delhi last month. Apple CEO Tim Cook even attended the inauguration and met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
