Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on November 12 in Phnom Penh, said the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership has a solid foundation for further development.

Regarding the cooperation orientation, the two leaders agreed to maintain contacts and exchanges at a high level and at all levels.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered the two sides to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment, asked India to further open its doors to Vietnamese commodities and invited Indian companies to invest in information technology, pharmaceuticals, education, agriculture and energy.

The two sides agreed to further utilize their cooperation potential in the fields of defence, security, maritime cooperation, sustainable development, energy, etc. They also agreed to continue close coordination and mutual support in regional and international forums on issues of common interest, including ensuring the safety, security and freedom of sea and air navigation.

The Vice President of India confirmed that Vietnam is one of India’s important foreign policy partners and supported Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s proposal to convene a Vietnam-India Joint Committee meeting on economic, commercial, scientific and technological cooperation early next year.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended invitations from senior Vietnamese leaders to Indian President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Upper House Speaker Venkaiah Naidu to visit Vietnam.
