Badminton News: India’s top players Pramod Bhagat and Sukant Kadam will be aiming for gold medals at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships, to be held from November 1-6 in Tokyo.
Five-time world champion Pramod Bhagat is the reigning singles and doubles champion, having won the twin titles in the 2019 edition.
“It’s the biggest tournament of the year, and I’ll give it my all. Expectations are always high, not only from people, but also from myself. I’ve set standards for myself. very high and I try to maintain them by improving myself.” said Bhagat.
“The goal is to keep my two gold medals. I worked long hours to perfect my skills and work on certain aspects of my game and develop my stamina. This year has been a bit difficult and I want to finish it on a high.”
Meanwhile, Kadam No. 3 Dunia who trained with Bhagat in Bengaluru won bronze in the last edition and he is looking to qualify for gold in this edition.
“I spent a lot of time in the gym and improved my stroke game and my game. The goal is to win a gold medal at the Para World Championships,” he said.
“This year was good for me, I won big tournaments and I reached world number 3, which is a big boost for me, and I will continue to fight until I become number 1 in the world”, he concluded.
