Pontorson (Manche) town hall invites you to discover the paintings of Chong-Ja Leverrier through the exhibition “Travels of Korean artists in Normandy”.
” Ilbong, Pak Chong-Ja is an artist of Korea who claims the pioneering party in the election of his people. He painted French or Indian landscapes with traditional techniques his country”, commented the city’s cultural service.
From Korea to Normandy
She followed her husband to Pontorson, and he fell in love with our territory.
He returns silence and light through the prisms of his Korean eyes. In support of traditional materials and techniques (natural pigments and Indian inks washed on rice paper), he adds a philosophy of the Supreme Whole that goes beyond what he paints: people, nature, and things. interact, dialogue, and come alive.
The lighthouses of Mont Saint-Michel, Étretat, Fécamp or the Cotentin thus reveal, through the artist’s sensibility, the soul of each of them.
From korean calligraphy accompany each painting.
At the village hall of Pontorson (Manche), place de l’Hôtel de Ville, from 18 May to 21 May 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm. Free.
