Indonesian Ligue 1 News: Persis Solo has once again presented their new signing ahead of the 2023/24 Indonesian Ligue 1 season. This time, the management of Laskar Sambernyawa will not present the players, but rather the figure of a new assistant coach who will accompany Leonardo Medina, namely Josep Coco Ferre.
The UEFA Pro licensed coach knows South East Asian football well. His professional coaching career started when he became the head coach of Buriram United B in Thailand, before going on to become the head coach of the highest caste in the Thai League, namely Ratchaburi FC and Bangkok Glass FC.
Coming from Thailand, Coco became manager of Bayamon FC in Puerto Rico and then continued his career as an assistant manager of East Bengal FC in India. After trying his experience in India, he was appointed coach of the Philippines national team at the end of 2022.
He said he was happy to have the opportunity to be part of Sambernyawa’s army. He and Leonardo Medina will try to give their best for next season.
“Very happy for the extraordinary opportunity to work with Leonardo Medina at Persis Solo. Moreover, it is a very important moment to celebrate a century with the team. I have a very high motivation to face this season to give the best to everyone who loves Persis,” he said as quoted by the official La Liga Indonesia website.
Coco also liked Leonardo Medina who had built the club’s backbone well since Ligue 1 last season. He promised to give everything to help the team get even better.
He also wanted to feel the momentum of celebrating a century of Persis Solo with the support of fans. According to him, the fans are an important part of the club’s journey next season.
“This season will be an extraordinary season celebrating 100 years of Persis. We must be a tough club to beat, especially when the opposing team is playing Solo,” concluded Coco.
