Surabaya (beritajatim.com) – Officially, Josep Gambau, the new coach of Persebaya, led the team’s training at the Gelora Stadium November 10, Surabaya, Thursday (14/9/2023).

According to Yahya Alkatiri, the Persebaya coach confirmed that it is true that Josep Gambau is the new coach of Persebaya and he has been officially hired for next year. “The new coach has arrived and has been hired for one season and we will see further developments,” Yahya said.

Yahya further stated that an administrative process was carried out by the management of Persebaya to register this Spanish coach to accompany the Surabaya city team which will face Madura United, on September 17, 2023. “We registered with the LIB. I hope everything will be completed before tomorrow’s match, so that Madura United’s opponents can play against Madura United,” he said.

In the meantime, it was not without reason that Persebaya recruited Joseb. Because his experience in building a football team matches Persebaya’s mission to build a better team than before. “Besides having a lot of experience, we believe he is a suitable coach to build Persebaya as a whole,” he added.

Asked about the target, Yahya did not want to give too many details. He only explained that in every home or away match, Persebaya could play well and win. “We want Persebaya to perform well every time he plays and win,” he said.
