REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian women’s national team held a virtual training session at the Royal Orchid Grazia Hotel, Mumbai, India on Tuesday (18/1) morning. Garuda Pertiwi’s team, which was originally scheduled to hold a morning training session at Yasvant Rao’s training ground, Mumbai, was not allowed to leave the room and hotel. Indeed, the results of the PCR swab test have not yet been published.
To maintain the condition of the players, coach Rudy Eka accompanied by assistant coach and physical trainer Gaselly Jun Panam donated equipment conditioning. All players train virtually for 90 minutes.
“This morning, the players received equipment elongation and conditioning. This needs to be done as all the players yesterday only received time off after traveling from Indonesia to India. The equipment provided also serves to maintain the condition of the players so that they remain in good shape when they return to the field to train,” Gaselly said in an official statement from PSSI, Tuesday (18/1/2022).
During the morning training session, the players did elongation or a static warm-up first, followed by some movements using a rubber band for the ankles, knees and hands. In addition to using wheel roller as a form of exercise conditioning.
“Since yesterday, we haven’t done much other than travel to India. So this morning the equipment provided by the physical trainer really helped us to stay active even if we were in the room waiting for the results of the PCR test to come out. I hope everyone can get back on the pitch as soon as possible,” captain Ade Mustikiana said.
Garuda Pertiwi’s squad are still at the team hotel and have yet to complete their first training in India. Ade Mustikiana and his friends still have to wait for the results of the PCR swab before they are finally allowed to organize a training session.
