Jakarta (ANTARA) – Technology company OPPO has released a fries specifically to bring the best imaging technology and photography experience to a smartphone, the MariSilicon X.
“MariSilicon X is OPPO’s answer to the perceived differences in results and quality between devices smartphone OPPO when using different manufacturers’ NPUs chipset“OPPO Indonesia Public Relations Manager Aryo Meidianto A said in his statement on Wednesday.
Neural Processing Units (NPU) MariSilicon X is the solution to the gap in power consumption, processing power, and personalized imaging results and quality through computational photography via artificial intelligence (artificial intelligence / AI) presented by the producers chipset.
NPU is basically an inseparable part of central processing unit (CPU) and also graphics processor (GPU), this unit is commonly referred to as system on chip (SoC).

To support the performance of an SoC, the chipset developers will add shared DDR Bandwidth memory. The shared DDR bandwidth system can actually make the image processing process take much longer and of course waste power, the memory will work for all three parts of the SoC.
With the presence of MariSilicon X on OPPO smartphones, image processing can take place much faster. This is due to the additional dedicated DDR bandwidth with data transmission speeds of up to 8.5 GB/s, designed exclusively for the MariSilicon X chipset.
“The process of producing an image from a smartphone often leads to power consumption issues. Therefore, the MariSilicon X NPU was created to focus on optimizing power management and AI computing workloads. Additionally, this NPU is here to provide enhanced smartphone imaging capabilities for both photos and videos,” Aryo added.
