October 25 total solar eclipse, this is the region that can be observed

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA- Solar eclipse Partial or Surya Grahan will perform in multiple parts of the world on October 25, 2022.

This eclipse, visible only in the region that includes Europe, the Middle East, the northeastern part of Africa, western Asia, the North Atlantic Ocean and the North Indian Ocean.

Most parts of India will also be able to witness the phenomenon except for a few states in the northeastern region.

There are three phases of a partial solar eclipse – the beginning, the maximum and the end. According to PTI, the eclipse will begin in Iceland around 2:29 p.m. IST and end around 6:32 p.m. IST over the Arabian Sea. It will be visible at most from Russia at 4:30 p.m. (IST).

In India, the solar eclipse will be visible from 4:29 p.m. WIB and will end with sunset at 5:42 p.m. WIB. The maximum duration of the eclipse will be at 5:30 p.m.

The largest eclipse – with almost seven-eighths of the sun’s diameter (86.2%) hidden – occurred at local sunset on the West Siberian Plain near the city of Nizhnevertovsk (about 260,000 inhabitants), one of the richest cities in Russia.

The rest of the eclipse area will see less sun overcast. For much of Eastern Europe, including western Russia, Finland and northern Sweden and Norway, as well as Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir in India, more 60% of the diameter of the sun will be covered by the passage of the new moon.

Throughout central and eastern Europe, including Denmark, Poland, Romania, the Balkans, as well as much of the Middle East and western India, the magnitude of the eclipse has been reduced by 40 to 60%.

For Iceland, as well as much of Great Britain, Germany, eastern France, Italy, Greece, Egypt and south-west In India, the magnitude decreases, up to 40%, while for western France, northeastern Spain, Libya, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia. , less than 20% of the sun’s diameter will experience an eclipse.

In fact, for some cases such as Valencia, Spain and Algiers, Algeria, the edge of the moon will only cause a barely perceptible gash in the top of the solar disk; Madrid are outside the eclipse zone and won’t see anything. Portugal is the only European country to be closed to the event, as it is just outside the eclipse’s visibility area.

For Western Europe, this is a morning event; noon for Central Europe and afternoon for Eastern Europe. Farther east, beyond western Russia and India, the eclipse occurred at noon with the sun setting before the show ended. In central India, for example, the maximum eclipse will coincide with sunset, while further east the moon will only begin to enter the solar disk at sunset.

Unlike a total solar eclipse, a partial solar eclipse can be seen easily from anywhere. Observations can be made with the naked eye, with binoculars or telescopes of different sizes.

Of course, when viewing the eclipse directly, the eye or camera must be protected by a dense filter from the strong light and heat of focused sunlight. Keep in mind that the sun is no less dangerous to look at during a partial eclipse than on normal clear days.

Unless the sun is very low and appears dull red, don’t be tempted to squint or steal a dangerous look just because part of the sun’s surface is blocked by the moon.
