TEROPONGNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Indonesian U-17 national team head coach Nova Arianto admitted that he was disappointed after losing to India with a score of 1-0 at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, Tuesday (27/8/2024).
“So in terms of results, we are disappointed. “We should have won,” Nova said after the match.
Apart from this, Nova also said that his team often loses the ball while trying to break down the opposing defense.
“We see a lot of players making mistakes in passing, that's our biggest toll. Today, many players made decisions when releasing the ball and still made many mistakes. That's our lesson,” he said.
Another Didi, Nova believes that one of the tactics that can be learnt after playing the friendly against India is compact defence, i.e. the strategy of keeping the team solid in defence.
“We can see that India is performing well and they are implementing a compact tactical defence and how we open a compact defence, that is what we have a lot to learn,” Nova concluded.
The Indonesian national team is in Group G with Australia, Northern Mariana Islands and Kuwait in the qualifying round for the U-17 Asian Cup.
